Bracket Fungi grow like little shelves on the bark of rotting or damaged trees. They are considered to be tree destroyers by those who are not in the know. However, in reality, trees must already be damaged before Bracket Fungi can establish themselves and, in hollowing out trees they make them less vulnerable to wind damage and create housing for many animals whose droppings usually sustain the tree into a ripe old age. The essence captures some of this ‘saving’ quality helping those who feel over dominated or bullied.
Bullying is generally pictured as intimidating, abusive treatment with physical force and coercion or verbal and emotional browbeating. However, simply feeling under pressure from or domination by someone to meet their needs rather than our own is a sign that we are being bullied. This form of bullying is often found in families or relationships and has a subtle ‘if you loved me/were a better person you would not do this’ element that can be hard to resist.
Bracket Fungus essence provides a safe, strong, sturdy platform on which those being bullied or dominated can position themselves above the pressures they are under and hold and expand their own sense of self. In strengthening and linking the lower chakras, this essence helps builds confidence and self-esteem. It also provides the drive and courage to resist emotional or physical blackmail and to meet our own needs and interests rather than those of others knowing that, ultimately, this is the best action for all concerned.
As bullying is damaging to both the receiver and perpetrator, the essence can also be used as an environmental spray, e.g. in the playground, workplace or home. It can also be placed in the communal water bowl of squabbling pets or the family kettle. Here it will flood the surroundings with love and light. It will also help improve relationships by balancing the central power element and fostering more mature emotional responses to situations, thus improving inter-personal skills.
