Open Heart: Helps us feel happier about the world, others and life itself.
Human brains have a natural, protective, negative bias which makes us more likely to notice bad qualities in others rather than good ones. It is, therefore, easy to open our hearts for people with whom we feel safe, respected and appreciated; but difficult with those who make us feel angry, threatened, worried, critical, righteous or revengeful. Additionally, closing our hearts is also a natural reaction to trauma, as it helps deflect the hurt and pain by shutting us down emotionally so we can pretend things don’t matter or exist. The down side is that it can take us to a dark space that holds us back from giving and receiving love.
Open Heart helps us live more vibrantly and joyfully and learn/ relearn how to trust others and the experiences the Universe brings our way. This helps us move on from past thoughts, hurts or actions and to begin afresh. It paves the way for new healthier relationships and develops inner confidence. Most importantly, it brings peace and joy into our lives, aids us in becoming more productive in the world and also helps us heal the planet by encouraging others to open their hearts.
